Each year I get the opportunity to take a group of high school students down the Nimpkish river. It is a great experience each year. This year was a bit different with the water levels on Vancouver Island at historic lows, we were able to run the lower section of the Nimpkish only once. The upper section didn’t have enough water this year.
Still we were able to take advantage of some of the other fabulous sites around the Nimpkish Valley. Exploring the Little Huson Caves, trying to find a massive 800 year old Douglas Fir tree (marked on the Backroads map), paddle boarding and exploring around Anutz lake.
Look forward to the next trip and hope for a good snow pack this coming fall and winter.
Enjoy the photos,
