The Hasst River, NZ

Paul Button and myself spent a few hours on a day off exploring the top of the Hasst river. If you have ever driven over from Queenstown to the west coast you would of passed it. We had been working a few Landsbourough trips this summer and where interested to see this “rock filled ditch”. With a day off and kayaks loaded we headed off. We had low water, around 4-5cms and we did paddle a little bit. We were looking at 4kms and ended up at 1.6kms. Took around 2.5hours including the time to hike out. Probably would of been more fun with out the boats. Highlight of the days was launching ourselves off this thirty ft high boulder.
