This past September I was on a fall trip with Canadian River Expeditions on the Tatshenshini. A truly amazing river, I was looking forward to the fall colours as most of the trips typically finish toward the end of August. The other great thing, it turned out, was the Northern lights lit up one of our evenings quite spectacularly. Check out this photo. 
This wasn’t our usual trip as we had along a film crew and 4 Mt Bike Athletes backed by Red Bull. Check out Freeride Entertainment’s work here. Look forward to seeing the film come March.
We had a great couple of days getting down to our base camp at Bear Bite camp, including some great heli filming with a cineflex camera in the canyon. The athlete’s, film crew and photographers spent time in the hills riding and getting footage. We managed around camp before taking off once again to head down to the confluence of the Tatshenshini and the Alsek rivers. Spending a evening a walker glacier before heading out to Alsek lake with a storm riding on our heels. We had a great evening before the storm opened up and gave us a bit of a walloping the lasted through the next day. Spending another night at Gateway Knob gave us a chance for a full nights sleep before heading toward Dry Bay, Alaska.

A few of the guides would be staying behind with the crew for a couple of days filming in the Dry bay area while Mike and myself headed back to Whitehorse in a Cessna Caravan with a load of the gear. Amazing times out on the river. Cheers to the crew. Enjoy the pictures below.
