Revelstoke Weekend – Jordan River

Last year in the middle of a busy summer, I decided to get out on an adventure. This adventure wasn’t close by, it was in Revelstoke, BC, to participate in the Jordan River Festival. I hadn’t been out that way for a number of years and the summer of 2019 seemed like a good time to go. I had just come back from adventures in the north and wanted to get out in my kayak.

After a bit of a drive and some messaging with one of the organizers to pick up some sound equipment in Kamloops on my way through I made it there in the late afternoon.

The next day it was off to paddle the fun, intimidating and exciting Jordan river. This one was pretty easy with logistics and there were a fair number of paddlers at the area we were staying at.

Fair to say the Jordan river is pretty awesome. There are 6 main drops which are numbered for naming. Had some good paddlers to send the first run with and good a good feel for the run. Managed to get on it a number of times that weekend. Gives me a great reason to go back and explore more of the rivers in the area.
