Whitewater and Tranquility

The Kali River is situated on the border of India and Nepal. Of the rivers rafted in India it is one of the prettiest, and most secluded, you can go for over two days and see nary a soul.

This year we  took a round about route to pick up two people coming off a trek in the Joshimath area. So this was a two day mission, over twenty hours of driving, a number of Chai stops, some good eats of packed lunches, then we arrived in Pithoragrah where we met the rest of the team and organize stuff to head to the river the next morning.

After that it was a short drive the next morning to Jhulaghat to put in for our six days of rafting down the Kali River. The Kali is a very beautiful river with chances to spot different wildlife, enjoy large sandy beaches, campfires, starlit sky’s.
