Paddling on the Upper Browns

The Browns was running and it looked like it would be in for a paddle the next morning. I was able to get Dave Calver and Joe Box to come out for a morning run on the Upper Browns. It was sunny and the flows were at 13-14cms, it was looking like a good day. We drove to the put in and hiked in to below the Medicine Bowls. After getting our gear sorted we paddled down to the portage, on river right, around the slot. There is a great ledge to walk on river right.

After seal launching we ran the slide, Triple Drop was looking clean. The bottom had a log river wide as you exit out of the drop. Joe ran it all the way down, I eddied out after the first drop and Dave hit his first line before heading downstream over the 2nd drop part way upside down. He ended up down stream in the river left eddy at the bottom. I unpacked my breakdown paddle and we headed off with a few more nice rapids, a couple of walks due to new wood. Next time it would be nice with 20-25cms. See what happens.

Enjoy the pictures.
