The Mullet

I purchased the Mullet in April this year from Western Canoeing and Kayaking in Abbotsford. I was looking for a boat with a bit more speed, a little bit more knee height and good comfort. I had a Jackson Antix for a year before this, but was looking to switch things up after it cracked down in Ecuador back in January.

I am a 6’2″ human, size 13 feet and weight about 195lbs … some small variations depending on the day. First sitting in the boat it was comfy, roomy, and felt good on my feet.

Now after paddling it for the past 8 months I have come to love it. It has become my go to Vancouver Island boat. Have ripped it down most of my favorite runs on the island.

Classics like the Upper Gordon, Upper Puntledge, Browns river, Cameron river, Nimpkish, The Adam, Lower Puntledge, Upper/Middle/Lower Gold river and the Nanaimo river. Also took it over to Whistler for a rip on the Soo and Upper Cheakamus rivers.

From boofing drops to soul surfing green waves to playing up the river, this boat is a hoot. The comfort factor is fantastic.

It is my go to boat for teaching kayaking, makes the moves easy to demonstrate, has awesome speed, and its FUN!

So if you want a boat to play the eddy lines, rip up the river, be uber comfy …. Check out the Mullet.
