Festival Wrap up of 2014

In 2014, it was a year of festivals. All told I visited 7 different festivals in Washington and BC between March and Mid July. Not too bad coming from Vancouver Island. A number of new rivers were paddled, and new friends were made. It was nice to visit Whistler and trip down to the EFL and Canyon Creek. Nice to see lots of familiar faces at the Puntledge Festival. The Ashnola River was pretty wicked and will be a return event for sure. Getting on the Upper Checkamus & Callaghan for the race run by Steve Arns (LiquidLore) was also a fun time.

Look forward to returning to a few of the festivals this year(2015) and hitting up a few others. Unlikely Paddlefest is a high pick as is the head to head event on the Checkamus river in May. See the full list of Events below the photos.

For 2015 there are a number of festivals that are on my list to visit.

– Gordon Creek Race – March

– Cowichan Youth Kayak Festival – April 17 – 18th

– VKC Festival on the Chilliwack – May

– Cheackamus Race in Mid May(tbd)

– Puntledge River Paddle Festival – May 29 – 31st

– FIBark June 18 – 21st

– Callaghan Creek Race – Late June (tbd)

– Unlikely Paddle Festival – September

A few others will be added but look forward to some good times in the coming year.
