Kayaking on Vancouver Island has been good this fall. We have had a number of rain storms and some warmer temps. Though now starting to hope for some snow to build the snow pack for the spring paddling season.
Was able to get out with a number of people on some fun runs. With a month left in 2014 I hope to get in a few more days of paddling, but time will see if the weather cooperates. This fall was a bit more about exploring some runs that I hadn’t gotten on before. This lead to driving a number of different logging roads, looking at topo maps and google earth.
A 1.5km section was added onto the Upper Oyster which provides a lot of fun. Managed to have a great trip down the Franklin river with Shayne. Had some fun on the Mill Bay creek and exploring the Waterfall in Goldstream Park. Ice is starting to show up in the rivers and will look forward to mixing up activities over the next little while.
Enjoy the photos from the last couple of months.
