While it has been a little while since I have posted images and blogged about paddling or rafting. Fortunately that just means that I have been busy and having loads of fun. There has been a fair amount of time spent on rivers since my last posts. From paddling in the Northwest Territories to exploring rivers back on Vancouver island it has been eventful summer and fall. Was able to meet up with some friends to run a few sections in Gold River in the middle of July, late flows on the Island this year. After that we had the trip on the Beaulieu river in the NWT, 16 days in the back country was a pretty incredible journey. Will have a post coming on this.
In the fall, outside of my health care work, i do a bit of teaching for the whitewater part of the COLT program. Had some great times on the Campbell river, the Gold river, out in the surf in Tofino, and up on the Nimpkish river.
With rain finally arriving on Vancouver Island we are starting to get some good runs in. The paddlers are popping out of the wood work and runs are getting done. Some wood clearing has been done by active members of the Vancouver Island Whitewater Paddling Society to keep wood from clogging some of the great runs on the island. There have been a number of releases on the Puntledge river. Just a great run that gets paddlers coming from all over. All ready looking forward to the 9th annual Puntledge River Paddle Festival at the end of May.
This has been a good week of paddling, good levels, some good friends have coincided with some work, which made for good days on the river. Hopefully will be getting a new river cleaned up and a run into down it soon. Love that there is still so much to discover on the island.
Enjoy a few pictures from the adventures and more posts up in awhile.
