Back in May, I picked up a new drysuit. Been using a couple different dry suits over the years, however Bomber Gear had just come out with a new model. It looked pretty sweet and it came in red – I’m a sucker for red. Now having used the suit for the past 4 months, I’ve put it through the wringer and used it on a number of trips. I have found it to be a great dry suit; it takes a beating, keeps me dry, is easy to get on and off.
Be sure to come and check it out at Western Canoe and Kayak.

Being 6’2″ tall I ordered the XL version of the suit. Room in the arms and feet, with still enough room to get socks on my size 13 feet. The suit seemed quite hardy with good build quality.
Pros
– The Abrasion panels on both shoulders, having scraped down a couple of rocks and carried my kayak on my shoulders they are holding up well.
– The interior seam taping is holding up. On the feet, the entrance and the neck they have double up on the seam taping.
– The tunnel is nice and wide, very easy to get the spray deck on.
– The new design of the Wrist and Ankle cuffs.
– The zip system which is easy to open and close – I have used the supplied lubricant with it twice over the summer. I find that with a bit of manoeuvring I can open and close it myself.
– The neck system provides a smooth fit – all day comfort and there is a bonus whistle with the suit.
Cons
– The red colour is fading a bit.
– It’s a bit heavier
