August on the Tatshenshini

Last August I spent a month doing two trips on the Tatshenshini river in the Yukon for Nahanni & Canadian River Expeditions. It was an amazing time. Spending 11 days at a time on the river travelling out of the Yukon, through BC and into Alaska.

Traveling to the flow of the river it provided great opportunities for hikes, enjoying scenery, eating good food, and watching wildlife.

The Tatshenshini runs through the world’s largest non-polar icecap. I remember capturing a iceberg as it floated by our camp on the 2nd trip, was great to add ice to drinks to go with dinner. Also seeing moose, wolves, five bears, some beavers, and many birds. A pretty amazing place to spend August.

Good times with good people,
