A Day on the Koksailah

After a very dry winter we had some rain toward the middle of February. Searching the gauges on the River database we decided on the Koksailah. There had been a group down the weekend before so we knew there should be limited wood. Paul and myself headed out from the Comox Valley to meet Liam at the Kok take out. Meeting up, we set shuttle, which is easy here as the bridge is the take out. From there we drove up, got dressed and hiked down to the Kinsol Trestle which is the Put in for the Canyon run. The flow was 42cms for the morning run. The Kinsol trestle is pretty awesome to float underneath as it is one of the largest freestanding/ timber trestles in Canada.
