A bit of joy teaching new, stoked WW kayakers

Whitewater always brings me joy. The chance to share the joy and stoke of the river with new paddlers is always great. Each spring and fall for the last decade or so I have had the opportunity to work with great people at Strathcona Park Lodge with students in the Canadian Outdoor Leadership Training (#doCOLT).

Here are a few photos from the first two sessions this fall…

Put in for the Campbell river during the unusual dry spell this Fall
Taking turns doing eddy turns and working on the fundamentals

Hiking laps at Peppercorn Park, working river running skills, and fueling ourselves on snacks 🙂 see below >>
Snacks, Snacks, Snacks
Scouting, throw bags in hand, picking lines

The sunsets earlier this fall were pretty stellar
The rain gave us the opportunity to scout some different locations (Heber River)
Till the next adventure on the North Island
